Alpine Zoo in the north of Innsbruck: Europe's highest zoo

In Europe's highest zoo (750 m), the Alpine Zoo in Innsbruck, more than 2,000 animals have found their home in a natural environment. 150 different species show the diversity of the European Alpine region, which is nowhere else to be found in such a complete form in just one place. Here you can admire a wide variety of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish, housed in spacious enclosures, bird aviaries, in the aquarium as well as in outdoor terrariums.

In addition, the Alpenzoo Innsbruck can be easily reached from the city centre - either by city bus or via the Hungerburgbahn. Isn't that the perfect destination for a day out for the whole family?

Historic Bergisel & internationally renowned ski jump

As a modern landmark, the Bergisel ski jump is enthroned on the Bergisel, which is steeped in history and was the scene of the battles of the Tyrolean peasants under Andreas Hofer against their occupiers 200 years ago. The first ski jump was located on the mountain as early as 1925. Since 2002, the new ski jump tower has been rising into the sky, its striking design owed to the Iraqi star architect Zaha Hadid. Today, the Bergisel Ski Jump is not only a popular and year-round destination in Innsbruck, but as an FIS competition facility it is also known as one of the venues for the Four Hills Tournament in ski jumping.

Nordkette as a popular destination in summer & winter

In winter a nearby ski area, in summer a recreational oasis with magnificent views and fantastic hiking and climbing routes - Innsbruck's Nordkette is a popular destination for excursions all year round. The best way to get there is with the Hungerburgbahn, whose valley station is in the centre of Innsbruck. The ride over the architecturally outstanding cable-stayed bridge alone is an absolute experience. And as a guest of the Hotel Sailer, you receive a reduced ticket for the Nordkettenbahn - just pick it up directly at the reception!

Magnificent Ambras Castle with historic castle park

Visible from afar, the gleaming white grounds of Ambras Castle lie at the south-eastern gates of the Alpine city of Innsbruck in Tyrol. It gained its cultural and historical significance through Archduke Ferdinand II, who was a busy collector and patron of the arts and sciences. Ambras Castle is therefore one of the most beautiful sights in Tyrol and is widely known as the oldest museum in the world.

The reconstructed and modern museum complex in the Lower Castle delights with the "Ambras Collection", which can be marvelled at in the three armouries, the Chamber of Art and Curiosities and the Antiquarium. In addition, the Habsburg Portrait Gallery awaits you on three floors of the palace, housing paintings by famous artists such as Rubens or van Dyck. And the unique Strasser glass collection also enchants with precious glass from the Renaissance to the Baroque.

In addition, there is much more to discover in Ambras Castle - for example, the magnificent Spanish Hall, which is still used today as a venue for concerts. A leisurely stroll through the historic and idyllic castle park, a beautifully landscaped Renaissance garden, rounds off the excursion perfectly.

Family excursion to Serlespark in the Stubaital

The entire park invites young and old to hike, play, experience and relax. The attractions range from a slow train to a spacious water area for fun splashing around to the Mieder summer toboggan run. And if you want to enjoy a panoramic view of the Tyrolean Alps, head for the Koppeneck viewing platform or the Karwendelblick platform.
